Each year, the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) runs the international Global Action Days movement to demonstrate how individual actions, no matter how small they seem, can greatly impact our own and our Earth’s well-being. Schools from all over the world are invited to join in! Global Action Days 2025
22nd April - 6th May
This year over 400,000 people, from 131 countries and counting have already registered to take part. If you want to be part of this global movement and get climate ready, you can take action in your school as part of the Global Action Days campaign right now.
Participating in Global Action Days
One way to make a positive impact and tackle the climate emergency is to share the actions that you complete during the Climate Ready - Global Action Days. Every small action helps!
To help motivate and inspire others to take climate action, after completing each task we ask you to share photos and comments online using the hashtags #GlobalActionDays and #GenerationRestoration.
You can even register and continue your activities and projects for several weeks after the official GADs dates.
The following are themes and activities recommended by FEE for this year's events. You don't need to complete every action listed below, but every action matters. Head to the FEE website to find out more, access your resources and get started on your Global Actions Days journey! Learn more

Overview of Global Action Days 2024 themes and activities
Activity 1
Uncover the hidden heroes beneath your feet
It is time to become a soil sleuth and explore the incredible world of worms. These tiny creatures are the heroes of our planet, tirelessly working to create healthy, fertile soil so that everything above the surface can grow and thrive. Your first Global Action Days activity is to discover more about these wonderful creatures and life below ground during a Soil Safari!
Activity 2
Meet our plant protectors!
For the second Global Action Days activity, we want you to explore the amazing ways vegetation, including trees, shrubs, and other plants, help prevent flooding and pollution. Learn about how plants filter water, stabilise soil, and provide shade to reduce evaporation. Share your findings and vegetation-filled photos on social media using the hashtag #GlobalActionDays.
Activity 3
Building a bioeconomy legacy!
Bioeconomy is about using biological resources to create sustainable products and services. Your weekend activity for the Global Action Days campaign is designed to bring all ages together to learn from past generations so that we can build stronger, more resilient ecosystems for future generations. We invite you to interview older family members and community elders about traditional practices related to agriculture, food preservation, or natural resources.
Activity 4
Nature's POV
Let us look at our planet from a different perspective - can you see your local community through nature's eyes? For the fourth Global Actions Days activity we want you to pick up your mobile phones and cameras and take photos that show the planet's problems- from a different angle! Think: litter from a bird’s POV, or deforestation through a tree's branches or tree-dwelling animal. Get creative and connect with nature.
Activity 5
Throw a nature-inspired party!
For your final Global Action Days task, we would like you to host an outdoor party for nature and join FEE in celebrating the 25th Anniversary of both Learning About Ecosystems and Forests (LEAF) as well as the Earth Charter! But this is no ordinary party... we would like you to incorporate nature-themed activities, food, and decorations – remember NO WASTE generation into your party planning, to create a memorable event that celebrates nature's beauty and inspires others to live more sustainably.
