Swedish furniture retail giant IKEA is proud of its Belfast store achievements and particularly the work it undertakes with schools, colleges and voluntary groups.

Through the dedicated store environment specialist a range of opportunities can be accessed and resource made available.

Three key areas where schools and other interested groups can benefit:

1. Environmental Tour involving hearing about all the environmental features and aspects of the store. A chance to recycle using the state of the art recycling equipment and seeing how IKEA reuses as well as recycles. A fun quiz is set and refreshments are provided. We can cater from P3 to Adult education. Maximum class size around 35 and a tour last for approx two and a half hours.

2. The environment specialist will visit classes/eco clubs/groups to present IKEAs view on the environment from responsible forestry to green retailing.

3. Schools/groups can take advantage of reusable waste from the store ranging from textiles to wood.

Additionally all groups receive a very thorough Health and Safety brief and everyone is issued with High Visibility Vests for the trip to the Recycling Bay.

Groups incur no charges.
