Colin Glen Forest Park has been delivering environmental education to foundation, primary and secondary level students for nearly twenty years.  Along with themed activities within the forest park, the education team also provide outreach services to schools in Belfast and surrounding areas.  Over the years we have helped to create outdoor classrooms and gardens for a number of schools, helping them bring rich biodiversity to their grounds.

The education team at Colin Glen Forest Park can help schools plan and develop outdoor spaces, focusing on Biodiversity.  We can help schools source materials either from the forest park or from other associates.  Our education team also have extensive experience in horticulture.

Colin Glen Forest Park demonstrates active conservation and regeneration.  Over the past two decades, the park has been brought back to life after being used for years as a dumping ground.  With such experience, we can help schools look at litter problems on school grounds and even the surrounding area to help find solutions.

Colin Glen Forest Park is also a multi-award winning park, including the Civic Trusts Green Flag Award – the national benchmark for parks and open spaces.  Colin Glen is the only community led park in Northern Ireland to have won the award for two consecutive years!  While this is a different award from the Eco-Schools Green Flag, it covers many similar themes.  It also requires a consistent effort on behalf of the forest park team to keep the award from year to year.  With all this experience, the team at Colin Glen Forest Park look forward to sharing it with your school and helping teachers and students reach their goals.
