Apply for an Award

There are three award levels within the Eco-Schools programme:

  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Green Flag

How and when to apply

The Bronze and Silver awards are self-assessed online and trust is placed on each school to complete this process. If your school meets the award criteria, log in to the website to apply online and download your Bronze or Silver certificate.

Green Flag applications are submitted in writing/electronically and the school is also visited by a trained assessor. Once a school has been awarded the Green Flag it will need to reapply for the award every two years. First applications and renewals use the same application form. To download a Green Flag application form please go to the teacher resources page under the resources heading.

Please remember that in order to ensure that your school is assesed in the next academic year, applications should be received by 16th March 2012.  Any applications recieved after this date may have to assesed in September 2012.
